BRUNATE shoes

Brunate shoes are classy, stylish and famous for exceptional comfort. The Italian brand was founded in 1926 in Lomazzo/ Lombardy by the successful businessman Vittorio Galli and Giovanni Volanté, a specialist in designing and producing shoes. At first, Brunate only produced high end shoes for children, which was a very competitive sector beginning of the 19th century. Not until the 80's Brunate started to produce exclusive shoes for women.

The history of Brunate

Brunate was doing so well in that time, that the company expanded their production plant and office building in 1936. A few years later, Vittorio Galli died and his daughter Letizia joined Brunate, who had to put the company through turbulent rough waters during World War II. In 1943 the second founder Giovanni Volonté passed away and his son Giacomo took his place in the company.

Brunate shoes- from kids' to ladies' shoes

Still producing shoes for children, a fire destroyed the whole production facility and stock of Brunate in 1949. The owning families did not give up and rebuilt the whole factory and carried on producing children’s shoes. Even a second production plant was opened in the late 50’s and more than 200 people were employed. Brunate shoes for children were so well known and successful in Europe, that in the late 60’s the brand reached highest sales.

The beginning of producing women's shoes

Economic downturn in the 80’s in Italy with high unemployment rates which affected in particular sales of children’s footwear lead Brunate to start producing also shoes for women. Since then Brunate ladies’ shoes became the major product line and were successful all over the world.

Up to now Brunate shoes are handmade and are made out of superior leather, handcrafted in Lomazzo. The styles of Brunate shoes are distinctive and the comfort is superior.
